2018 Resolutions

We are already halfway through January and I am finally feeling like myself again.

After spending all my time in bed with phnemoia all during the holidays it has been a rough start of  the new year.

I have not made any new years resolutions as I always find myself quitting before I even start because I feel like it is a task!

Instead I have decided that, instead of starting a crazy diet or set some goals that are unachivable, I will do small things to make my everyday a little easier.

1. Quit obsessing about what people think

I find myself stressing about what people think! especially when it comes to blogging and Instagram –

do people like my outfits? do they even care enough to read this post? am I good enough for this business? the questions are endless!

This obsession with the thoughts of other people has to stop in 2018 because it only adds to ones insecurities.

2. Quit being surrounded by negative people

Negative and narrow minded people only only gives you guess what?! Negative energy!

Life is to short to be surrounded by negative people when all they do is bring you down.

Try and find a way to spend less time with them.

Or if you find that those people are important to you try if you can talk to them about it.

Maybe they are unaware of the fact or they are having some trouble with something themselves.

if they don’t care than maybe it will be easier to seperate yourself from them.

3. clean out the clutter

I love cleaning out other peoples closets – it is so easy when it is not your own stuff haha

this year I want to clean out all the pieces that I do not wear and have not worn in a while.

I am selling the good stuff of course and then donating the rest to charity.

this goes for the rest of the house as well.

Have you made any resolutions this year? And are you good at sticking to them? or do you quit them quickly?

Winter colors

During winter it seems like everyone tends to wear the same colors as the weather aka the darkest colors possible!

As much as I love a good monochrome outfit and all black looks it can be quite dull during these darker months.

It is time for a change and I decided to go with the more colorful choice of coat for my last visit in Copenhagen,

Oddly enough everyone was able to spot me in a croud full of black coats haha

To tone the coat down I styled it with a pleated leather skirt, neutral chunky knit and black accessories.

Him & Daniel Wellington

Today I am hanging out with my two favourite men!

Hubs and Daniel Wellington that is!

It should always be a big priority to spend time with loved ones.

Even during the busiest time in your life be sure to make time!

I keep up with time with my new Classic Petite Ashfield in all black – another classic addition to Daniel Wellingtons already gorgeous collection.

I normally wear a more mens size watch, but this petite makes it easier to stack my favourite bangles as well.

….

On another note….

Don’t get me wrong hubs and I love each other to the moon and back but we are probably the most stubborn couple on this planet!

Just agreeing on these pics was.. well lets just say not easy haha

I went for the ‘oh we are so in love’ kind of picture and he of course went for the goofy one!

As a compromise we decided to add both pics in this post!

Now it is up to you guys to decide which one gets posted on Instagram later this month

please wote for your favourite in a comment below.

Goodbye Miss Chique & Stylish?…

Hi Guys,

Sorry I have not been active on the blog lately.

To be honest after summer vacation and getting back to work everything has been kind of overwhelming.

Also coming to the realization that blogging will only be a hobby right now. Well at least for me.

I even considered closing misschiqueandstylish. com altoghether and maybe rebranding my Instagram to make it… well different somehow.

But after talking about the pros and cons of it I decided to let it be.. for now at least.

The reason I created misschiqueandstylish.com was to have a creative outlet and reminding people that no matter your budget you can always have class and style.

You do not need all the latest trends and all the newest designer items to be chic. All you need is your creativity and think about what you spend your money on.

I did not name my blog this because I felt I was her : Miss Chique & Stylish – but because I wanted everyone to feel like her when they walked through the door in the morning.

Also to show girls that you don’t need to be a size zero to be a blogger!

This issue is often the first thing people comment on when they find out that I blog! .. they look at me odd and say “but you are not the skinniest”.. you probably all know the looks that comes with it..the ‘oh you think you know better’ look!

and no I am not and I am not trying to be!

I am just showing you and the world my daily looks because I love fashion and styling.

All of my fellow bloggers all know the struggle.  The huge competition especially on Instgram.

The fact that many are buying followers and brands dont seem to give a f…! They work with these so called influencers anyways.

The fact that the amount of followers still seem to mater more than the content you create.

I could go on and on about this matter but…. well I dont want to rant…..

So here is what I am going to do.

My plan for the rest of the year…

Keep posting my outfits – well because I loooove fashion and thats why i started this in the first place.

Furthermore and most importantly, I keep going, because I love the little community that I have become a part of and the lovely people I have met because of blogging!

Hopefully meeting up with some fellow bloggers soon and create new great content.

And maybe in the future I will consider rebranding again.

What keeps you motivated in this business?

Summer in the city?

Ever since I came home from London I have been even more wonderlust than before I went!

The few days I was there was amazing but oh so little time! I feel like I could have stayed there forever and never be bored or uninspired ever again!

Traveling always inspires me to think differetly in order to travel more and very importantly to new places even though London is my second home I need to explore!

If the weather changes here in Denmark I might stay home but the chance of that happening is about zero – not happening.

and also another house project is not really what I had in mind this summer! All you house owners out there know what I am talking about!

So for the sake of not spending yet another summer in Denmark and doing another house projekt I need to find a great destination to explore! This is why I need your help!

Where are you going this summer and why? Do you have any recommandations? preferably in Europe.

I am thinking about sun, sea and sand kind of vacation, but still with some cultural attractions or beautiful nature.

please comment below on where you think I should go 🙂

Heels vs. Flats?

I used to be an all heels girl! I would wear heels all day everyday!

and no we are talking about kitten heels.

We are talking about 10-12cm stilletto heels!

When I look back I might understand the looks and comments I got from people but I did not care.

Over the years I have learned that flats and even sneakers can be stylish as well.

No you may not get the same posture as when you wear stillettos but they sure are more comfortable!

Especially when the shoes are the custest blush color and a bow is added! I mean what is not to love about them 🙂

These sneakers from Bullboxer I will be wearing all spring and summer with cute dresses and jeans.

They are so easy to style and perfect for any occation. whether it is drinks at the local café or exploring on your next adventure.

Or just like me on my way to the next family gathering wearing a printet dress and a chunky cardigan.

Ruffle obsession

This spring one of the biggest trends is definately ruffles! They are everywhere! and I looooove them! 🙂

So when Hunkøn asked me to shoot some of their pieces I was not doubting for one second which pieces to photograph!

I visited their lovely studio last time I was in Copenhagen and it is placed the custest little area behind the main shopping street.

The studio itself was a gorgeous Copenhagen apartment with high ceilings and old wooden floors and filled with clothes everywhere aka every insta bloggers dream!

So have you purchased you ruffle piece this spring? otherwise I have linked some great ideas for you below!

The Classic Trench

I know we should be talking about spring clothes and sandals, but when Spring feels more like Autumn it is hard to make the transistion.

Therefore when I was packing for Copenhagen it was quite a challenge since the weather was changing so much!

The first day here it rained a lot and therefore I decided to wear my very beloved Burberry trenchcoat. It is such a classic piece that you can wear all year around.

I remember the day I bought it like yesterday. That feeling when I finally had saved just the right amount for this classic. Nothing feels better than finally being able to buy something you worked hard for.

Black was the only option for me since I wanted to make sure that I would wear it season after season.

The questions I always ask myself when investing in a more expensive piece of clothing: “how much will I wear this piece?” ,  “Can I wear it with most of my existing wardrobe?”

This is not to make myself more sure of whether or not I love the product. It is to show myself that spending this big amount on one piece of clothing is okay.

When you shop designer pieces do you consider it as much as I do? or are you more spontanious?

Spring?! Is that you?

Yesterday the thermometer showed 19 degrees!! That is only a few degrees from Summer here in Denmark!

of course I had to spend most of the day inside of the office, but when I got off work all I could think about was leaving and enjoy every moment of this sunny day! I stopped by the local supermarket and bought ice cream for hubs and I to enjoy while sitting outside!

I have waited for these lighter days in what feels like forever and finally they seem to have arrived!

Goodbye winter coats and warm boots and hello brighter colors, cherry blossoms and long summer evenings!

Cheers to this sunny weekend! I hope you are enjoying every moment!

Goodbye winter coats part 2

One would think that because you are a blogger / instagramer, it is crucial to spend as much as possible on the latest clothes, shoes and accessories that the fashion world dictates.

As much as i love following the latest trends I am more of a classic shopper.

I love to look for classics – pieces I can wear with most of my wardrobe that are timeless.

This does not immediately mean that I never wear colors. I just pick them wisely.

Like my very colourful Falabella from Stella Mccartney. I Love the chunky chains and the soft suede. I could have chosen the safe one black or grey,  but I decided that coral would be perfect for Spring and Summer. And in this case also through winter.

You might have noticed, if you follow me on Instagram, just how much I wear this coat!

I have worn it almost everyday this winter! This I might come to regret, when I go through my phone for a new post, and all I am wearing is this coat 90% of the time!

But that just shows my point!

You do not need to buy everything on the rack! Buy the items that you feel suits your style and you know can be worn with everything season after season.

A special thanks to my husband for always supporting me even though he teases me about all the outfit changes – but i guess thats what husbands do! 😉
