My love / hate relationship with denim

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!

I have always had a love for denim and I can clearly remember my first denim overall dress as a little girl.

You know the ones right? I think every little girl had those back then.

As I have grown older and maybe wiser denim have always been in my closet. either as the classic jeans or as the trusted denim jacket.

I mean they are what we call classics right? especially a good pair of Levis 501’s seems to be a must!

Well this is where I already get a little stressed out. I see myself in the fitting room trying on yet another pair of 100% cotton denims and realising they do not fit!!… and the feeling… being so sad and angry at yourself for not having the skinny model body that everyone around you seems to have.. the hate I have felt for my curvy body and still feel from time to time.

These feeling were exactly what went through my mind yesterday when I got the jeans I ordered from Bubbleroom. When I saw them laying in the seethrough plastic I already imagined the worst because thats the feeling that I associate with skinny jeans.

But boy was I wrong! These jeans are a gamechanger for sure!! I think these might actually become a stable in my closet. In fact I think I need them in every color!

They are high waisted and the strech is phenomenal! I can actually move in them!! They curve you see what I did there in all the right places and keeps everything tucked in and in its place at the same time!

I simply dont know why I keep stressing myself out about this! What a waste og time right?!

Beach days in Denmark with Hunkemöller

Hi lovelies,

Beach days in Denmark is not something that happens a lot. There have been many summers with only one or two beach days if we are lucky!

The weather has come as a big surprise this year!

The sun had been out everyday during May and now as we are mid June we have had less rain than I can remember. Ever!

This means that us Danes are finally coming out and enjoying everything that we love about summer. Which means a lot of barbecuing, gardening and of corse hanging out at the beach or nearest pool.

The result of this is that for the longest time ever I actually got myself a new bikini! Yay!

I picked this colorful 2 piece from Hunkemöller because I finally got a bit of a tan without any traveling lol.

Also it is easy to mix and match with other bikinis that you might own already to give a more fun look.

This is actually my first Hunkemöller suit and I could not be happier with the fit. As a large chested mademoirselle it can be quite tricky to find a bikini top that makes ‘everything’ stay in its place and also giving you that perfect lift and that doesn’t make you worry about nip slips.

You can shop my bikini and many many other gorgeous suits here

Hunkemöller has a broad selection of bikinis and suits that fints every kind of body – slim to curvy. The best part is that the price is great as well so you don’t have to break the bank to look chic on the beach this summer.

On another note I have some very exciting news! This is something that I never dreamed would happen to me.

I have been nominated in the Hunkemöller blogger awards 2018!!! To say that I am exited is an understatement! I am so honored to be nominated!

What a great way to start the weekend right?!!

It would mean the world to me if you would go and vote for me via this link – you can add your vote from Monday June 18th.

Have you found the perfect beach wear for this summer?

Coffee, roses and Isay

Hi Guys!

Happy almost weekend!

These past weeks have been crazy af! So happy that the weekend is fast approaching.

I am diffenately ready for some downtime with hubs, family dinners and lots of netflixing.

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I am impatiently waiting for spring!

It feels like we have been pushed back into January with all this snow falling again!

all of sudden it is not weird that people have not taken down their Christmas lights yet. The lights totally ads a certain amount of, what we Danes call hygge, on these cold snow days.

The upside to this weather is that it seems much lighter in the evening than it would be if it was just raining but still….

The few days that the temps hits above zero degrees I therefore must consider as Spring and wear all of my new Spring clothes and shoes.

I mean how much longer can a girl wait?! New clothes just hanging in your closet adding guilt to your conscience for not wearing them!

I know you must think that I am crazy but this is what my impatience does to me lol

Luckily my new spring wardrobe includes comfy new knits as well!

This white knit from Isay is no exception with its cute back lace up detail and low V in the front.

Also it helps me keep a bit warm during shoots and very easy to style.

Perfect with jeans like today for a more casual look or over your cute summer dresses in the hopefully near future!

It is such a versatile piece and I cannot wait to style it in different ways all during Spring.

Are you waiting impatiently for Spring as well?

Or how are you coping with the cold weather?

Shades of grey

The first month of 2018 has past and we are slowly beginning to get lighter days.

My mind is already in spring mode, but I have to wait a little while longer before I get to storage my winter coats.

Therefore I am sharing this classic grey one that I got a few years back and it is still one of my favourites! It has a classic menswear cut and keeps me warm all during winter.

I love the fact that I can reuse items from previous seasons – that is why I always splurge a bit more on classic pieces because I know it will last season after season.

This time I styled it with other shades of grey and black accessories.

Do you splurge on classic pieces too?

I feel like it gives more bang for your buck.

January Layers

Hi Guys,

Happy almost weekend!

January is super dark and cold around here so layering up is key to keeping warm!

(I am wearing double socks in these kicks lol)

The hours with light are so few that one only hopes for spring or a paradise island with palmtrees, sand and a cold drink lol

Luckily the days are getting longer and before we know it spring and blossoms will be in the air again.

therefore we have to enjoy our winter wardropes for a little while longer.

I love wearing scarfs all year around as it keeps me warm and it also keeps away a soar throught.

I litterally wear a woolen scarf every day during fall and winter – I think I have the same amount of scarves as I have shoes……. Not counting either ones anytime soon though…

And even though I have started cleaning out my closet for spring clothes, I am not getting rid of those scarves.

Denmark is always a little behind on the warmer temps so having scarves at hand is a must around here.

Do you have an accessory that you can not live without like I do?

Let me know by commenting below.

2018 Resolutions

We are already halfway through January and I am finally feeling like myself again.

After spending all my time in bed with phnemoia all during the holidays it has been a rough start of  the new year.

I have not made any new years resolutions as I always find myself quitting before I even start because I feel like it is a task!

Instead I have decided that, instead of starting a crazy diet or set some goals that are unachivable, I will do small things to make my everyday a little easier.

1. Quit obsessing about what people think

I find myself stressing about what people think! especially when it comes to blogging and Instagram –

do people like my outfits? do they even care enough to read this post? am I good enough for this business? the questions are endless!

This obsession with the thoughts of other people has to stop in 2018 because it only adds to ones insecurities.

2. Quit being surrounded by negative people

Negative and narrow minded people only only gives you guess what?! Negative energy!

Life is to short to be surrounded by negative people when all they do is bring you down.

Try and find a way to spend less time with them.

Or if you find that those people are important to you try if you can talk to them about it.

Maybe they are unaware of the fact or they are having some trouble with something themselves.

if they don’t care than maybe it will be easier to seperate yourself from them.

3. clean out the clutter

I love cleaning out other peoples closets – it is so easy when it is not your own stuff haha

this year I want to clean out all the pieces that I do not wear and have not worn in a while.

I am selling the good stuff of course and then donating the rest to charity.

this goes for the rest of the house as well.

Have you made any resolutions this year? And are you good at sticking to them? or do you quit them quickly?

Winter colors

During winter it seems like everyone tends to wear the same colors as the weather aka the darkest colors possible!

As much as I love a good monochrome outfit and all black looks it can be quite dull during these darker months.

It is time for a change and I decided to go with the more colorful choice of coat for my last visit in Copenhagen,

Oddly enough everyone was able to spot me in a croud full of black coats haha

To tone the coat down I styled it with a pleated leather skirt, neutral chunky knit and black accessories.

Goodbye Miss Chique & Stylish?…

Hi Guys,

Sorry I have not been active on the blog lately.

To be honest after summer vacation and getting back to work everything has been kind of overwhelming.

Also coming to the realization that blogging will only be a hobby right now. Well at least for me.

I even considered closing misschiqueandstylish. com altoghether and maybe rebranding my Instagram to make it… well different somehow.

But after talking about the pros and cons of it I decided to let it be.. for now at least.

The reason I created misschiqueandstylish.com was to have a creative outlet and reminding people that no matter your budget you can always have class and style.

You do not need all the latest trends and all the newest designer items to be chic. All you need is your creativity and think about what you spend your money on.

I did not name my blog this because I felt I was her : Miss Chique & Stylish – but because I wanted everyone to feel like her when they walked through the door in the morning.

Also to show girls that you don’t need to be a size zero to be a blogger!

This issue is often the first thing people comment on when they find out that I blog! .. they look at me odd and say “but you are not the skinniest”.. you probably all know the looks that comes with it..the ‘oh you think you know better’ look!

and no I am not and I am not trying to be!

I am just showing you and the world my daily looks because I love fashion and styling.

All of my fellow bloggers all know the struggle.  The huge competition especially on Instgram.

The fact that many are buying followers and brands dont seem to give a f…! They work with these so called influencers anyways.

The fact that the amount of followers still seem to mater more than the content you create.

I could go on and on about this matter but…. well I dont want to rant…..

So here is what I am going to do.

My plan for the rest of the year…

Keep posting my outfits – well because I loooove fashion and thats why i started this in the first place.

Furthermore and most importantly, I keep going, because I love the little community that I have become a part of and the lovely people I have met because of blogging!

Hopefully meeting up with some fellow bloggers soon and create new great content.

And maybe in the future I will consider rebranding again.

What keeps you motivated in this business?

Summer in the city?

Ever since I came home from London I have been even more wonderlust than before I went!

The few days I was there was amazing but oh so little time! I feel like I could have stayed there forever and never be bored or uninspired ever again!

Traveling always inspires me to think differetly in order to travel more and very importantly to new places even though London is my second home I need to explore!

If the weather changes here in Denmark I might stay home but the chance of that happening is about zero – not happening.

and also another house project is not really what I had in mind this summer! All you house owners out there know what I am talking about!

So for the sake of not spending yet another summer in Denmark and doing another house projekt I need to find a great destination to explore! This is why I need your help!

Where are you going this summer and why? Do you have any recommandations? preferably in Europe.

I am thinking about sun, sea and sand kind of vacation, but still with some cultural attractions or beautiful nature.

please comment below on where you think I should go 🙂

London I love you!

Those of you who have been following me for a while know about my eternal love for London.

I used to visit twice a year but this time I had to wait a little longer than usual. I guess life got in the way.

But now I am back and even though it is only for a few days I will make the most of it!

Not only is this a getaway for me and my husband, but also planning a little get together with a couple of other Instagram bloggers who I have been talking to and admiring since the beginning of this entire Instagram journey.

You might know the faboulous and sweet Ashley from @miss_gunner who I talk to on a daily basis and who I like to call my friend.

We have chattet a lot during the years and some of you may remember that we first met in Amsterdam a few years ago.

This time when we met I was so lucky to meet Camilla from @ave.camilla as well! Her bubbly personality is so contagious that you cannot be anything but happy when you are around her.  And do not even get me started on her natural beauty! How can anyone be so gorgeous is beyond…

We had brunch at the cutest cafe on Portobello road with our husbands! It was so fun to meet the girls and also the other talented men behind the camera. I bet they had a lot to talk about as well.

The trip was not all about blogging, but also about exploring what I like to call my second home.

We always visit the British Museum. The building in itself is so beautiful with the glass ceilings and marble floors.

Also Covent Garden is a must everytime! I love the atmosphere and of course the cute cafes and shops.

Ofcourse I am dreaming of living in Notting Hill with the crisp white houses or the gorgeous pink house next to Portobello road!

This city holds so many great memories for me and I feel so inspired everytime I visit.

It was the first big city I ever visited both with and without my parents. We have family close to the city so when I was younger we used to visit a lot.

Also it is the place where my husband proposed! Yup right in the middle of Kensington gardens on a sunny January day he popped the big question!

And the rest is history!

Do you have a favourite city in the world other than your home?
