Autumn feels and flowy dresses

It is getting darker by the second and Christmas ads are already blasting through the radio reminding us about whats comming.

I feel like summer was just yesterday and that we har hurrying through fall to get to the holidays.

Can we please just push the pause button for a second and fully enjoy the colourful autumn leaves, sitting outside cozying up in a warm blancket drinking hot chocolate and reading a good book. Wear my leather jacket with a cozy knit and not worry about being cold. Just for a little bit longer….

Okay okay…! I will admit that I love the holidays and I might have eaten… and bought some Christmas candy already.

But I am not ready for christmas carols and prensents and all that yet. in fact this year is a no gift holiday in my family. Instead we want to focus on spending time together and enjoy the holidays. All the stress of buying gifts are already gone and we can relax and enjoy each other instead.

Have you ever tried Christmas without gifts before?

Oh by the way! I discovered this brand called Religion Clothing and I am OBSESSED! They have the most gorgeaous flowy dresses and all black outfits which you all know I adore! 😉 The one I am wearing in these photos are a more colorful one though but with its asymmetric hem and chain colar it adds some edge to your style. Next time I am definately styling it with my favourite Leather jacket and a big whool scarf.

Well now I am all smiles since the weekend is just around the corner. For a change I don’t have any plans at all except family dinner tomorrow. It actually feels kind of nice not to have anything planned at all. can’t wait to just relax or do something spontanious – who knows 😉

Have a great weekend everyone!

back to reality

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have been a little mia here on the blog lately. I took some time off due to summer holidays.

As you may remember I was not sure if I was going to travel or stay in Denmark to enjoy summer at home.Well as you might have noticed on Instagram there are no palm tree or pool pics which means that I stayed home all summer. The weather here has been beyond what any of us Danes could have ever imagined.

We stayed home mainly due to the fact that hubs and I finally felt ready to adopt new fur babies. You might already have met them on my instastories lol – we adopted them from the local animal rescue shelter where we have been sometimes to donate money. They do an incredible job!

We ended up with two kittens because they were sisters. My heart could not bear to leave one behind when they have already been through so much together. Now they will always have eachother. I am so happy that we got them! They have surely helped me through some very tough times already.

Sadly my dear grandfarther past away during the holidays. This is such a huge loss for me and my family. He was such a caring man with the kindest heart. He could always make everyone smile. He used to sit in his chair humming christmas songs and I think I have inherited my sweet tooth from him as well. Especially my grandmothers christmas cookies are one of our common favourites.

Now I am back in the old routine of work, shooting pics for Insta and taking care of my little furbabies. They bring us so much joy already but boy they are active lol – I cant even do a shoefie or unboxing without them teasing me. The struggles are real!

Hope you all had an amazing summer! Fall is just around the corner – I am ready to take on the new season with a smile and looking forward to layered outfits again.

Lots of love…

Spontaneous Holiday feels

While everyone seems to be on summer holiday somewhere exotic with beautiful sandy beaches and drinks in hand I am still stuck at the office waiting very patiently for my turn to enjoy a feew weeks off.

I still have not made any plans what so ever and it actually feels kind of good. Now I have the chance to be spontanious and do whatever I want for 3 weeks straight! How awsome is that?! If I want I could jet off to Sounthern France or go on roadtrip through Europe and stop where ever my heart desires.

I live in a very small country but there are still so many places I have not been and I love exploring new places to go and to be honest: Denmark is really beautiful during summer. Especially now when the sun is out and we have not seen a single raindrop in weeks.

Right now the cornfields are blowing in the wind and the citys are quiet – it is the perfect time to explore all the hitten gems of our little country. Go to the little café I always walk past because it is to crouded and also hit the final sales in the small shops to find a good bargain.

What do you love about the summer holidays? and what are you up to this year?

Have you planned everything or are you spontaneous just like me?

Feeling the heat with NA-KD

Hi everyone,

Hope you had a lovely weekend.

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed my collaboration with NA-KD Fashion – they are running a big campaign in Denmark with #nakdlovesdenmark.

For this collaboration I chose some pieces from the NA-KD X Kristin Sundberg range. I find it so cool that NA-KD teams up with amazing bloggers and Instagram personas to create new pieces for their online shop.

The White ripped denim jacket is so cool and easy to wear. I love it because it is a bit different than the classic blue denim. I styled it with a classic white low back tee and a dusty green ruffle skirt and my beloved LV fannypack.

I hope you enjoyed the look and remeber you can get 20% off your entire order + free worldwide shipping by adding ‘britta20’ at checkout.

Happy shopping!

is it okay to take a break?

Hi everyone!

I know it has been a while since my last post but real life got in the way. (also you might already have seen this look on Instagram lol)

It can be a real struggle to joggle between real life and my social media world – especially when it is not my full time job!

I love creating content and being a part of an amazing community of fellow bloggers and content creators. I am so grateful for all the people I have come to know and talk to everyday and the ones I have actually met in real life and I like to call my friends.

They are all very inspirational and strong women who motivate me everyday and this is exactly what I love most about social media! Getting to know people with the same interests as mine.  Building relationships with people I would never have met or maybe even heard of, if it was not for social media. For that I feel extremely lucky and fortunate.

Prioritizing is key to succeeding in both worlds though. It can be such a challenge for both myself and my loved ones because all of my spare time is used on social media to grow my blog and Instagram. it is like a full time job – but a job I love so much that I am not always willing to take breaks from it.

Also if I do take a break once in while and don’t interact I feel that Instagram is punishing me with lots of unfollows. Even though the number of followers should not count as important it still is to some extend. Especially if  you want your hobby to become your day job.

Furthermore when you get asked why you dropped to a certain number and you explain it with : ‘…well I took a week off and then they were gone..’ – doesn’t sound very boss like to me?!

…and then the insecurities set in… am I not good enough? not thin enough? not beautiful enough? not stylish enough? – the insecurities that noone should feel but everyone does at some point. The questions are so draining. All that negative energy for nothing but likes from people you don’t even know? Is it worth the stress?

To be honest with you I do not think that I can succeed in both worlds without letting someone or myself down. This is very stressfull to deal with. Especially with all the missconceptions and the lack of understanding, from your surroundings who find bloggers and social influencers superficial and fake.

Everyone have a right to their own oppinion but like my parents always said to me growing up: ‘if you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all’.

As all fellow bloggers can agree to it is a very competitive world we are in and every blogs and Instagram stars appear – what was so secluded and unigue in the beginning is now a flood of amazing content from amazing bloggers.

This have made people more desperate to succeed overnight and an epedimic of the socalled fake influencers popped out everywhere. We have all noticed them and luckily brands are now becomming aware of them also.

It takes a lot of effort to keep creating new and inspirational content. People tend to forget that bloggers work on their own (well most do) – they do the styling, writing, creative vision, take photos, edit and the list goes on.

Do you know any other job makes you change into many different outfits in the car, cafe restrooms and on the street?! ( yes you read that correctly lol) – it is not always very glamorous behind the scenes.

Yes we do like cute outfits and we might stand on chairs to get the perfect food/ coffee shot but we do it for the gram and because we love beautiful content. People are so judgemental about things they know nothing about which is pretty sad… we should encorage each other more instead of putting each other down.It is important not to take ourselves to seriously and do what we love!

Being rich on Instagram is the same as being rich in Monopoly? Been hearing this term a lot lately.. Do you agree? also how do you deal with the ups and downs of social media?

January Layers

Hi Guys,

Happy almost weekend!

January is super dark and cold around here so layering up is key to keeping warm!

(I am wearing double socks in these kicks lol)

The hours with light are so few that one only hopes for spring or a paradise island with palmtrees, sand and a cold drink lol

Luckily the days are getting longer and before we know it spring and blossoms will be in the air again.

therefore we have to enjoy our winter wardropes for a little while longer.

I love wearing scarfs all year around as it keeps me warm and it also keeps away a soar throught.

I litterally wear a woolen scarf every day during fall and winter – I think I have the same amount of scarves as I have shoes……. Not counting either ones anytime soon though…

And even though I have started cleaning out my closet for spring clothes, I am not getting rid of those scarves.

Denmark is always a little behind on the warmer temps so having scarves at hand is a must around here.

Do you have an accessory that you can not live without like I do?

Winter colors

During winter it seems like everyone tends to wear the same colors as the weather aka the darkest colors possible!

As much as I love a good monochrome outfit and all black looks it can be quite dull during these darker months.

It is time for a change and I decided to go with the more colorful choice of coat for my last visit in Copenhagen,

Oddly enough everyone was able to spot me in a croud full of black coats haha

To tone the coat down I styled it with a pleated leather skirt, neutral chunky knit and black accessories.

Him & Daniel Wellington

Today I am hanging out with my two favourite men!

Hubs and Daniel Wellington that is!

It should always be a big priority to spend time with loved ones.

Even during the busiest time in your life be sure to make time!

I keep up with time with my new Classic Petite Ashfield in all black – another classic addition to Daniel Wellingtons already gorgeous collection.

I normally wear a more mens size watch, but this petite makes it easier to stack my favourite bangles as well.

….

On another note….

Don’t get me wrong hubs and I love each other to the moon and back but we are probably the most stubborn couple on this planet!

Just agreeing on these pics was.. well lets just say not easy haha

I went for the ‘oh we are so in love’ kind of picture and he of course went for the goofy one!

As a compromise we decided to add both pics in this post!

Now it is up to you guys to decide which one gets posted on Instagram later this month

please wote for your favourite in a comment below.

Goodbye Miss Chique & Stylish?…

Hi Guys,

Sorry I have not been active on the blog lately.

To be honest after summer vacation and getting back to work everything has been kind of overwhelming.

Also coming to the realization that blogging will only be a hobby right now. Well at least for me.

I even considered closing misschiqueandstylish. com altoghether and maybe rebranding my Instagram to make it… well different somehow.

But after talking about the pros and cons of it I decided to let it be.. for now at least.

The reason I created misschiqueandstylish.com was to have a creative outlet and reminding people that no matter your budget you can always have class and style.

You do not need all the latest trends and all the newest designer items to be chic. All you need is your creativity and think about what you spend your money on.

I did not name my blog this because I felt I was her : Miss Chique & Stylish – but because I wanted everyone to feel like her when they walked through the door in the morning.

Also to show girls that you don’t need to be a size zero to be a blogger!

This issue is often the first thing people comment on when they find out that I blog! .. they look at me odd and say “but you are not the skinniest”.. you probably all know the looks that comes with it..the ‘oh you think you know better’ look!

and no I am not and I am not trying to be!

I am just showing you and the world my daily looks because I love fashion and styling.

All of my fellow bloggers all know the struggle.  The huge competition especially on Instgram.

The fact that many are buying followers and brands dont seem to give a f…! They work with these so called influencers anyways.

The fact that the amount of followers still seem to mater more than the content you create.

I could go on and on about this matter but…. well I dont want to rant…..

So here is what I am going to do.

My plan for the rest of the year…

Keep posting my outfits – well because I loooove fashion and thats why i started this in the first place.

Furthermore and most importantly, I keep going, because I love the little community that I have become a part of and the lovely people I have met because of blogging!

Hopefully meeting up with some fellow bloggers soon and create new great content.

And maybe in the future I will consider rebranding again.

What keeps you motivated in this business?

Different Set of Eyes

On todays post I would like to talk about eyeglasses!

I only recently started using prescripion glasses after feeling a chronical headache every single day after 8 hours infront of the office computer. It was not until my doctor recomended that I should go and see my eyedocter that I realized that this was even the issue.

Next up was shopping for the perfect pair of glasses! I knew instantly that I was not a lence kind of girl.

Of course I ended up buying some expensive designer frames because… Well I though my first pair should kind of special.

Later on I wanted more options even though i had sworn to myself (read my bank and my husband) that I would love these frames forever and ever!

Since i was not going to make the same mistake of buying yet another set of designer frames I decided to search for a more suitable option and came across  GlassesShop.com and then i tought why not buy your glasses online?

They have a wide range of prescription glasses and even prescription sunglasses at a resonable price and all you need are the details from your eyedoctor and then start picking frames!

I decided to go with the timesless clear eyeglasses that goes with everything and I love them!

Maybe even more than my designer ones! Please don’t tell!

Shop your new glasses here and use code GSHOT50 and get 50% off eyeglasses and sunglasses (sale excluded)
