Goodbye winter coats part 1

Now that spring is around the corner and temperatures are rising I am as always waaaay behind on sharing my winter outfits! So please bare with me if a lot of winter outfits are shared this month.

As you probably know by now I have a thing for vintage coats and when I found this one hanging in a shop I knew it had to come home with me.

It is the perfect grey classic color that will last season after season and it will keep you warm on cold winter days like this one.

To be honest it was way to big at the time so I had to make some changes to the coat.

Luckily I am no stranger to a needle and thread so it came quite easy to me. Do you like DIY projects just as much as I do?.. I feel like a good DIY can make an old piece new again just by a simple change!

When wearing a statement coat like this I tend to add some more neutral pieces to dress it down.

This time I styled it with a chunky knit and block heeled ankle boots.

How do you style your statement coats?

Sunny Copenhagen?

When ever I get the chance I love to visit our sunny captital! I love everything about this city! The streets filled with beautiful architecture, the shops and the cutest cafes on every corner.

I love how different it is from where I live now – so busy and upbeat!

There is always an event, a big designer sale or a cute new boutique to visit!

This time I went mostly for the blog to connect and view all the new spring / summer collections comming, but of corse I made time to explore the city with hubs.

When I visit Copenhagen i always have to stop by Illum – or marble heaven as i like to call it! You can see why in the pictures. Also I have a weakness for the roof top terrase.

Not only for the view, but also for the food and the best macarons in the country!

If i ever had the oppertunity i would move there in a heartbeat! Well at least thats what i tell myself i would, but then the fear strikes of everything you would be leaving behind and all the responsibilities you have where you are?

Have you ever just packed up your life and moved somewhere new and exiting?

Military Jacket

I say this all the time! Choose your winter coats wisely!

If you you do not have an unlimited budget like Kim K – choosing the right coat is crutial!

Think classics and something you can reuse season after season.

Like this military jacket from Tommy Hilfiger

It is like 6 years old! but I use it every year.

I try to always plan ahead to be sure what coat to splurge on.

Also regularly cleaning out my closet helps in the decision making process.

Getting rid of pieces you never use or are ruined from last year needs to be tossed.

Another plus is you might earn a buck or two if you decide to sell old pieces.

What coat have you plurged on this year? or are you reusing an oldie like me?

Checkered Coats

This season I have noticed that a lot of people myself included  are obsessed with checkered coats. It is different from the usual black and greys that seem to be the IT colors we wear all winter long.

Luckily for me and my wallet I already had this coat hanging in my closet. Lets just say that i have a thing for Burberry coats! Another obsession to add to the list

It is vintage and has followed me for years now. It was one of those vintage bargains that was just love at first sight!

Do you ever vintageshop? If so what is your greatest bargain?

A Touch of Pink

The Christmas traditions are en full sving and that means a lot of family gatherings with lots of food and sweets!

I already have all Christmas gifts ready for every family member – all i need now is a Chrismastree!

The city can be a bit chaotic in December I bet yours is as well , but what I love about it is the Christmas decorations and the big Christmastree in the town square.

Are you ready for Christmas yet?

When Christmas shopping it can be to hot to wear a long coat running in and out of the shops.

Therefore I often choose a sweater to keep me warm instead.

This time I styled it with a striped longer shirt and coated jeans. What I love about this sweater is the bows at the end of the sleeves that gives it that chic vibe we are all in need of.

Sweater Weather

December has arrived and even though it ‘should’ be minus something degrees it is still not cold enough for long coats and boots.

A good alternative to winter coats is a great sweater! It can easily be added to any outfit to keep you warm and cozy during the day.

What I love about this paticular knit is the color. The green emerald is perfect for fall/winter and the upcoming holidays.

Also it has a high neck and the sideslits to show off what you wear or not wear underneath.

I wore this outfit to the city for brunch and some christmas gift shopping.

This sweater is perfect for an all you can eat brunch buffet you can hide basically anything under it!

Also christmas shopping is a workout in itself with all the walking and carrying bags of gifts! Oh! wait Hubs did that part!

Well you get the idea!? right?

Cozy Sequins

On my days off I love to go to the city and explore, have a hot cup of cocoa and shop a little.

My city is very small compaired to so many others but there is something cozy and familiar about. It feels like home.

What I love most is not the shops, because we do not have the most exiting ones – only the usual highstreetshops.

No what i love most is the buildings and little streets and soon the Christmas lights! there are many cute cafés and restaurants.

Here it is all about the Danish term called ‘hygge’ which almost always entails eating something with the people you love.

Google ‘Hygge’ and you will totally come visit Denmark! no joke

Prague getaway

It feels like October and November has just flown by! Dont know what happened?! have been sooo busy that I have neglected the blog!

Now it is time to get back in the game before this crazy year ends!

A few weeks ago I had the chance to fly to Prague for work and it was exactly what I needed!

Just to get away from everything even though it was for work to clear my head and get a fresh start.

Prague is such a beautiful city with cobblestones everywhere and every building is Instaworthy!

The view from my hotel says it all! Best sunsets!

The hotel was nothing special but to my surprice my room had the most amazing all marble bathroom! Instagoals!

Unfortunately I was only here for a few days and with work there was limited time for exploring but I managed to do a little damage aka shopping and making my sweet colleague take my ootd’s! I mean what are colleagues for if not helping eachother out?!

Irresistible Me

Hi Guys,

Fall has arrived here and with the falling leaves I decided to let my long locks fall as well.

To be honest I really did not have much choice in the matter.

My hardresser must not have been a big fan of my hair, since she decided to make such a huge mess of it, that led it to be so ruined, that there was only one option. CUT IT!

Luckily it ended up being longer than what I had imagined such a relief .

Now the shorter do has grown on me and I have found the pros of having shorter hair.

  • 20 minutes less blowdry time
  • when i curl or straighten it it does not take half a day
  • I dont wake up doring the night being choked in my hair
  • much less shampoo = more money for shoes!!

These simple 3 facts make me love it!

The cons however is:

  • not having that long sleek ponytail or braid
  • not that many options when it comes to hairstyles
  • having to style it everyday instead of the easy bun/ponytail

Irresitible Me gave med the best of both world with their easy clip-in extensions that matches my own haircolor perfectly!

They are so easy to clip in and out and are so strong that you dont have to fear them falling out during the day. can you imagine?! All the feers and doubts that you get from other girls having extentions is nonexisting.

I wear them a lot more than I had imagined I would. I have always had long hair so I never needed extensions before, but now they are such a lifesaver. Who knew that having long hair could be that important?!

Now I can have my long ponytail back whenever I want and still have the shorter do during the workweek.

The best of both worlds – what can be better than that?
