is it okay to take a break?

Hi everyone!

I know it has been a while since my last post but real life got in the way. (also you might already have seen this look on Instagram lol)

It can be a real struggle to joggle between real life and my social media world – especially when it is not my full time job!

I love creating content and being a part of an amazing community of fellow bloggers and content creators. I am so grateful for all the people I have come to know and talk to everyday and the ones I have actually met in real life and I like to call my friends.

They are all very inspirational and strong women who motivate me everyday and this is exactly what I love most about social media! Getting to know people with the same interests as mine.  Building relationships with people I would never have met or maybe even heard of, if it was not for social media. For that I feel extremely lucky and fortunate.

Prioritizing is key to succeeding in both worlds though. It can be such a challenge for both myself and my loved ones because all of my spare time is used on social media to grow my blog and Instagram. it is like a full time job – but a job I love so much that I am not always willing to take breaks from it.

Also if I do take a break once in while and don’t interact I feel that Instagram is punishing me with lots of unfollows. Even though the number of followers should not count as important it still is to some extend. Especially if  you want your hobby to become your day job.

Furthermore when you get asked why you dropped to a certain number and you explain it with : ‘…well I took a week off and then they were gone..’ – doesn’t sound very boss like to me?!

…and then the insecurities set in… am I not good enough? not thin enough? not beautiful enough? not stylish enough? – the insecurities that noone should feel but everyone does at some point. The questions are so draining. All that negative energy for nothing but likes from people you don’t even know? Is it worth the stress?

To be honest with you I do not think that I can succeed in both worlds without letting someone or myself down. This is very stressfull to deal with. Especially with all the missconceptions and the lack of understanding, from your surroundings who find bloggers and social influencers superficial and fake.

Everyone have a right to their own oppinion but like my parents always said to me growing up: ‘if you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all’.

As all fellow bloggers can agree to it is a very competitive world we are in and every blogs and Instagram stars appear – what was so secluded and unigue in the beginning is now a flood of amazing content from amazing bloggers.

This have made people more desperate to succeed overnight and an epedimic of the socalled fake influencers popped out everywhere. We have all noticed them and luckily brands are now becomming aware of them also.

It takes a lot of effort to keep creating new and inspirational content. People tend to forget that bloggers work on their own (well most do) – they do the styling, writing, creative vision, take photos, edit and the list goes on.

Do you know any other job makes you change into many different outfits in the car, cafe restrooms and on the street?! ( yes you read that correctly lol) – it is not always very glamorous behind the scenes.

Yes we do like cute outfits and we might stand on chairs to get the perfect food/ coffee shot but we do it for the gram and because we love beautiful content. People are so judgemental about things they know nothing about which is pretty sad… we should encorage each other more instead of putting each other down.It is important not to take ourselves to seriously and do what we love!

Being rich on Instagram is the same as being rich in Monopoly? Been hearing this term a lot lately.. Do you agree? also how do you deal with the ups and downs of social media?

Coffee, roses and Isay

Hi Guys!

Happy almost weekend!

These past weeks have been crazy af! So happy that the weekend is fast approaching.

I am diffenately ready for some downtime with hubs, family dinners and lots of netflixing.

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I am impatiently waiting for spring!

It feels like we have been pushed back into January with all this snow falling again!

all of sudden it is not weird that people have not taken down their Christmas lights yet. The lights totally ads a certain amount of, what we Danes call hygge, on these cold snow days.

The upside to this weather is that it seems much lighter in the evening than it would be if it was just raining but still….

The few days that the temps hits above zero degrees I therefore must consider as Spring and wear all of my new Spring clothes and shoes.

I mean how much longer can a girl wait?! New clothes just hanging in your closet adding guilt to your conscience for not wearing them!

I know you must think that I am crazy but this is what my impatience does to me lol

Luckily my new spring wardrobe includes comfy new knits as well!

This white knit from Isay is no exception with its cute back lace up detail and low V in the front.

Also it helps me keep a bit warm during shoots and very easy to style.

Perfect with jeans like today for a more casual look or over your cute summer dresses in the hopefully near future!

It is such a versatile piece and I cannot wait to style it in different ways all during Spring.

Are you waiting impatiently for Spring as well?

Or how are you coping with the cold weather?

Check for life!

Lately everywhere I look I see check printed suits and blazers and I am OBSESSED!!

I have already purchased 2 pant suits and one skirt suit in a short time. and that is not the only checkered pieces in my closet!

Told you I was obsessed lol!

Check has become such a classic and a must have in every closet.

Today I want to share this skirt set from Global Funk which is checkered with a twist.

If you look closely you will see that yellow has been added to make a colorful contrast to the grey.

This is also what makes it different from the two other suits I have in my closet.

Are you convinced?

Because that is what I told hubs….. Do you think he fell for it?

Either way I loooove it! and will definately be wearing it a lot during spring as it is light and easy to style with different pieces from my wardrobe.

This time I styled it with a simple tee and Kicks combo which ads the perfect casual touch to any suit out there.

Are you as obsessed with Check as I am?

Buy & sell preloved fashion with Zadaa app

This weekend I started doing some spring cleaning in my wardrobe to make room for more summer clothes and sandals.

Why do us girls have sooooo much stuff we never use? I feel I say this a lot and either way I always end up with lots and lots of clothing that I only use once! (Or never!)

When I clear out space in my closet I always try and sell the best of the pieces I am not using anymore and the rest I donate to charity.

The good pieces that have rarely been worn I try and sell online and recently I found a new app that can help me get rid of some of my clutter!

I have uploaded a few items on Zadaa marketplace app that helps me sell my preloved fashion items.

One womans trash is another womans treasure right?

The Zadaa app is very easy to work with and has some very cool features that makes the search for your next preloved bargain much easier.

for example you can add your size and hight into the app and it automatically matches items in the app that fits you!

This means that you do not have to go through endless amount of items that do not fit you bodytype.

The best part about the app is: Zadaa has buyer protection!

Which means that Zadaa will refund your money, if the purchased item, never shows up!

I have already found some great preloved items and added them to my spring/summer wishlist.

Download the Zadaa app here and start buying new tings for your wardrobe or start selling your preloved pieces.

Are you ready to shop from more than 100,000 wardrobes?!

In collaboration with Zadaa.

All words, styling and creative opinion my own.

Spring dreaming…

February is here!!

I have started counting down the days till spring witch means less layering and bare legs.. well hopefully..

but for now layering is still a must since the weather changes from snow to rain to sun in a heartbeat around here.

Since I have been dreaming about spring in what feels like forever now I have added some softer tones into my wardrobe.

This look I kept in greys and nudes with a touch of white and blue.

The classic striped shirt is light and perfect for sunny spring days.

The collar is a bit different and makes it a bit more feminine compared to the classic shirt collar.

I styled it with a simple skirt and a classic trench and added a warm blouse to stand the cold.

Are you making your wardrobe ready for spring?

Shades of grey

The first month of 2018 has past and we are slowly beginning to get lighter days.

My mind is already in spring mode, but I have to wait a little while longer before I get to storage my winter coats.

Therefore I am sharing this classic grey one that I got a few years back and it is still one of my favourites! It has a classic menswear cut and keeps me warm all during winter.

I love the fact that I can reuse items from previous seasons – that is why I always splurge a bit more on classic pieces because I know it will last season after season.

This time I styled it with other shades of grey and black accessories.

Do you splurge on classic pieces too?

I feel like it gives more bang for your buck.

January Layers

Hi Guys,

Happy almost weekend!

January is super dark and cold around here so layering up is key to keeping warm!

(I am wearing double socks in these kicks lol)

The hours with light are so few that one only hopes for spring or a paradise island with palmtrees, sand and a cold drink lol

Luckily the days are getting longer and before we know it spring and blossoms will be in the air again.

therefore we have to enjoy our winter wardropes for a little while longer.

I love wearing scarfs all year around as it keeps me warm and it also keeps away a soar throught.

I litterally wear a woolen scarf every day during fall and winter – I think I have the same amount of scarves as I have shoes……. Not counting either ones anytime soon though…

And even though I have started cleaning out my closet for spring clothes, I am not getting rid of those scarves.

Denmark is always a little behind on the warmer temps so having scarves at hand is a must around here.

Do you have an accessory that you can not live without like I do?

Let me know by commenting below.

2018 Resolutions

We are already halfway through January and I am finally feeling like myself again.

After spending all my time in bed with phnemoia all during the holidays it has been a rough start of  the new year.

I have not made any new years resolutions as I always find myself quitting before I even start because I feel like it is a task!

Instead I have decided that, instead of starting a crazy diet or set some goals that are unachivable, I will do small things to make my everyday a little easier.

1. Quit obsessing about what people think

I find myself stressing about what people think! especially when it comes to blogging and Instagram –

do people like my outfits? do they even care enough to read this post? am I good enough for this business? the questions are endless!

This obsession with the thoughts of other people has to stop in 2018 because it only adds to ones insecurities.

2. Quit being surrounded by negative people

Negative and narrow minded people only only gives you guess what?! Negative energy!

Life is to short to be surrounded by negative people when all they do is bring you down.

Try and find a way to spend less time with them.

Or if you find that those people are important to you try if you can talk to them about it.

Maybe they are unaware of the fact or they are having some trouble with something themselves.

if they don’t care than maybe it will be easier to seperate yourself from them.

3. clean out the clutter

I love cleaning out other peoples closets – it is so easy when it is not your own stuff haha

this year I want to clean out all the pieces that I do not wear and have not worn in a while.

I am selling the good stuff of course and then donating the rest to charity.

this goes for the rest of the house as well.

Have you made any resolutions this year? And are you good at sticking to them? or do you quit them quickly?

Winter colors

During winter it seems like everyone tends to wear the same colors as the weather aka the darkest colors possible!

As much as I love a good monochrome outfit and all black looks it can be quite dull during these darker months.

It is time for a change and I decided to go with the more colorful choice of coat for my last visit in Copenhagen,

Oddly enough everyone was able to spot me in a croud full of black coats haha

To tone the coat down I styled it with a pleated leather skirt, neutral chunky knit and black accessories.

Christmas in Copenhagen

Copenhagen is the place to be during December if you want to get that Danish vibe we Danes call ‘Hygge’ . (you can look it up here to get the full interpretation here ).

When stepping out from the main trainstation in Copenhagen you get the feeling straight away. Tivoli is located right accross the street and every entrace to the garden is decorated with beautiful lights, snow and christmas trees. If you come to visit do it when it is dark. it is so much more beautiful.

You can go to try all the rides, enjoy a lovely dinner or simply take a walk and enjoy all the beautiful decorations.

Every street in the city centre is decorated beautifully.

A small Christmas Market is  located in every little passage.

Even along side Nyhavn and the colorful buildings people are sitting outside covered in blakets and enjoying a wam cup of cocoa, dutch crepes and other specialties suited for Christmas.

If the cold gets to be to much there are lots of cute cafés and restaurants near by to get heated up and maybe grab lunch.

If you ever decide to visit Copenhagen it is definately worth it to visit this time of year.

Thank you for reading and for all your lovely support this past year!

You guys are amazing!

Happy holidays to you all.
