London I love you!

Those of you who have been following me for a while know about my eternal love for London.

I used to visit twice a year but this time I had to wait a little longer than usual. I guess life got in the way.

But now I am back and even though it is only for a few days I will make the most of it!

Not only is this a getaway for me and my husband, but also planning a little get together with a couple of other Instagram bloggers who I have been talking to and admiring since the beginning of this entire Instagram journey.

You might know the faboulous and sweet Ashley from @miss_gunner who I talk to on a daily basis and who I like to call my friend.

We have chattet a lot during the years and some of you may remember that we first met in Amsterdam a few years ago.

This time when we met I was so lucky to meet Camilla from @ave.camilla as well! Her bubbly personality is so contagious that you cannot be anything but happy when you are around her.  And do not even get me started on her natural beauty! How can anyone be so gorgeous is beyond…

We had brunch at the cutest cafe on Portobello road with our husbands! It was so fun to meet the girls and also the other talented men behind the camera. I bet they had a lot to talk about as well.

The trip was not all about blogging, but also about exploring what I like to call my second home.

We always visit the British Museum. The building in itself is so beautiful with the glass ceilings and marble floors.

Also Covent Garden is a must everytime! I love the atmosphere and of course the cute cafes and shops.

Ofcourse I am dreaming of living in Notting Hill with the crisp white houses or the gorgeous pink house next to Portobello road!

This city holds so many great memories for me and I feel so inspired everytime I visit.

It was the first big city I ever visited both with and without my parents. We have family close to the city so when I was younger we used to visit a lot.

Also it is the place where my husband proposed! Yup right in the middle of Kensington gardens on a sunny January day he popped the big question!

And the rest is history!

Do you have a favourite city in the world other than your home?

  1. London is definitely a place on my wishlist I would love to visit! It is so gorgeous and I hear it has some amazing shopping sites! How awesome you got to hang out with blogger friends and your husbands also 🙂 I want to plan something similar, but it’s probably going to have to wait until I move later this month! I would say my favorite city (right now) is NYC. What’s not to love? 🙂

  4. Britta, I feel the same way you do about London. However, while reading this and writing my comment I’m watching the concert in Manchester and truly hope you are safe. I call four cities my home in this world. All of them have been attacked. Some of them multiple times this year. Stockholm, Paris, London and New York. I’m going to London again in 4 days from now and I’m doing it as a proud world citizen and am going to show that hate will never stop me from going home. Darn, this got really emotional, but like I said, I hope you’re ok!

  8. Aww it’s clear London is a city that holds a special place in your heart, and I’m glad to see you enjoyed your time there! Your travel photo diary was just perfect- I felt like I got to experience the best parts of London through just this post! I’ve only been when I was very young and spent time in only the tourist spots, so to go back and visit these places would be a dream. I’ll definitely make sure to bookmark all the places you mentioned. I doubt that the gorgeous floral swing set will still remain by the time I visit, but your photo of you on it is just so beautiful- I’ll just have enjoy it vicariously through you instead 🙂 Thanks for sharing love!
