DIY Denim

Hi Guys,

I bet all of you have a pair of jeans in your closet, that you never use, but just cannot get rid of for some reason.

I have a lot of jeans that are simply too long, because of my very short legs no I am not an elf! I cannot find a pair of jeans that matches my hight, so I always have to shorten the lenght.

But as those of you with the same issues as me know, that most of the time I simply dont get it done! Laziness for sure! Instead I wear the same jeans untill they fall apart.

Back to the point: the pile of jeans in my closet i do not wear!

I got inspired by all you creative ladies out there I used to be one as well to redesign some of my old denims.

This is the first project: the assymmetric hem drumrole please!

You start out with a pair of old jeans and a pair of scissors.

Try on your jeans to get a feel of where the cut should be. If needed mark the spot with a piece of chalk.

Take your scissors and cut of the hem (or more if you are short like me) to make the new hem reach your ancles.

Make sure you do not cut of to much fabric! Once you have made the cut you can never go back.

Next you find out where you want the cutout to be. fx. on the side or like I did on the front.

Fold your jeans and cut out a square that fits with the look you want.

When you have made sure the cutout is exactly like you want it -put your jeans in the washer and dryer to get the perfect freyed look.

Voila the result of my DIY denim:

Hope you like them. I am already on my next project!

Please comment if you have any tips on a different denim DIY! I would love to do more.

Thank you for reading.
